what are you thankful for today?
StacyVee is thankful for...
- The first week of school... my daughter is having a wonderful start to middle school and I am so thankful for the teachers and administrators who work so hard to make her school a warm and welcoming environment. Yes, it's possible, even in a large public school! Bless them!
- Jeff
- Comfy t-shirts and jeans
- My smart and creative and independent daughter.
- A healthy body. It's not perfect -- far from it -- but it's healthy and strong.
- My dog and ice cream cones and good friends.
- Skype. I can see and hear my dear friends no matter how far away they live! Love it! (And no, I don't work for them. Just appreciate the technology that keeps me up-to-date with my friends and family.)
- Our fellow citizens who sacrifice for the rest of us by volunteering to serve in the military. They humble me.
- My creative daughter. A cooler-than-normal August afternoon with no need for the AC. And friends who help me keep things in perspective.
- Our house. And our dog.
- The butterflies and bees and lizards and hummingbirds outside my window.
- House guests who know when it's time to leave...
- AC for sure. My husband coming home from a trip tonight. My parents coming for a visit in two days. Good week ahead!
- Summer weekends. My house. Good music. And I'm thankful that I am a "glass half full" kind of person. Even when some things are going wrong, I can see all the things that are going right and that's why I can get out of bed in the morning and believe that everything is going to be all right.
- My husband who motivates me to take better care of myself... he runs and workouts and it inspires me to do it too. Even if I do a lot less than he does, it's sure better than nothing!
- The warranty on my car battery. Replaced for free. Whew!
- My sister and the special bond she has with my daughter. They are so much alike and it warms my heart to know that my daughter has such a wonderful woman in her life, someone who will have her back and who loves her unconditionally.
- My talented, creative, funny, smart co-workers... I work with a fabulous group of women who help me stay sane in what would otherwise be a really stressful job. Love them!
- Summer... the days are longer and slower... I get more time with my family... And all the ripe summer fruits are making me very happy!
- Air conditioning. Whew!
