what are you thankful for today?
ToriB is thankful for...
- the end of a very long school quarter; finally being able to finish a book; quality time with family; Hog Heaven BBQ; spring weather; walks on the beach; vacation; all that and a bag of chips.
- sleep
- a new year (may this one be much better for everyone than the last!) and life returning to normal for a while.
- bright blue afternoons, particularly when I have a case of the mean reds.
- sometimes knowing the answers.
- being able to do something useful for my sister-in-law right now, though it doesn't feel very useful.
- time to read and having an "in" at the library (seriously though, I can pay the fine. A whole dollar!), trivia nights with friends and funny slushy drinks, and Flogging Molly (even though Whistles the Wind's been on a mental loop all morning).
- and that my dog decided to throw up on the cheap carpet from Walmart.
- an amazing trip to the UK, time spent with one of my closest friends (who I only see very rarely), a safe journey home and—after a very long day and three different airplanes—being back on the ground for a while.
- warm clothes, library books and the opportunity to spend two weeks exploring a foreign country with one of my closest friends.
- all that being over with, a pleasant trip to Florida, time to share with my sister-in-law, and sleep. Oh, sleep.
- Saturdays.
- time, sleep, and the chance to see a friend who has moved away.
- a bright shiny afternoon after a long, dull day of rain
- beautiful old buildings, and the people who bother to preserve them; late evening beach walks and moons bright enough to see by; a little peace and quiet after a busy weekend; Thai food; and home.
- recovering from my cold, a weekend visit to see my brother, sister-in-law and nephew, and the great gas mileage on my car. And pie. Specifically chocolate bourbon pecan pie. A la mode.
- kleenex tissues with aloe, tea with honey, cold medicine, and my bed.
- lighter traffic, cooler days, and pie. Because who isn't thankful for pie?
- a fun evening with all of my cousins, home cookin,' sunsets over the marsh, and an interesting conversation with a Swedish foreign exchange student
- a break from school and time spent with friends
